Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting by working as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later worked as morning news anchor and crime reporter for WCBD-TV. O'Dell's articles in Charleston on how Charleston police handled DUI cases with leniency resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict instruction for the state's authorities. Ms. O'Dell received the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. In the years following her stint in Charleston O'Dell worked as a anchor and investigative reporter at the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV before joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor as well as a weekday correspondent. In addition to her current work as a lead anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also a contributor to NBC News' Today and as well for Dateline NBC. She co-hosted several of pre-shows and arrivals shows for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. The other shows she has hosted include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
